This game wan’t about reflexes as much as it was about mastery. Each round tested precision, tactictics and timing. The most competitive of players honed their skills while casual fans could enjoy the sheer rush of combat. Even today it remains one of the most beloved of the franchise.
COD Campaign
While multiplayer often has the spotlight, the Call Of Duty Campaign deserves equal praise. Thes missions delived powerful narratives filled with cinematic moments and emotion. From the grit of WW2 to tech espionage of advanced warfare. Every campaign was an experience.
In an industry where most investment is made into the online multiplayer experience, Call of Duty remains one of the few franchises treating single-player stories as essential. Each campaign if fast, fierce and deeply human.
Surviving the Horde
There’s nothing quite like Call Of Duty Zombies. What began as a secret bonus in in World at War, exploded into a phenomenon. Players found themselves battling endless waves of the undead in puzzle maps, armed with wonder weapons and a desire to outlast as many waves as possible. True fans have found all the Easter eggs and unearthed all the theories that link all the maps together.
Many would say, what makes Zombies so unforgettable is its sense of discovery. Every map hides it’s secred, from hidden switches to coded message the reviel the next part of the interconnected storyline. Fans have spent years dissecting these clues and building theories. It’s part survival part detective work and a celebration of creativity.
Ghosts in the Machine
Following the global success of Modern Warfare and Blck Ops, most of us were left wondering what direction the franchise would make next. The release of Call of Duty Call Of Duty Ghosts marked yet another era. This introduced us to a post apocalyptic world where America fights for survival after an orbital strike. It’s a darker (than usual) story with and emotiona tone and gameplay that pushed technical boundaries with destructible environments and dynamic paps.
While opinions of Ghosts we’re mixed, with new takes such as the intro of a playable dog showed the game makers at Infinity Ward we’re willing to take risks. Riley (the combat dog) could scout ahead, take commands and even respond to commands.
Customisation was another feature! Players could finally create female soldiers for for the first time.
